Message dependancy, anymore than electric cars are going to completely solve
our oil dependancy (if everyone used electric cars that would cause a
energy crisis in a different area, California already is having power
outages). However the use of a combination of several alternative fuels
will help reduce the demand for oil. That is the goal. We can't wait
around until we have a perfect solution...we have to take it one step at a
time and embrace multiple ways of reducing our need for foriegn oil.
Ethanol can be one of those solutions in the pot.

If all we used was Ethanol derived from corn, than yes there would not
even be enough farm land to produce all the corn needed. Keep in mind
that research is being done to find ways to use waste products (ex. citrus
waste). The best thing we could have is different fuel sources and
competition between them.
